Textiles Selection 2022 Catalogue

The Textile Selection Catalog promotes and recognizes the excellence of the Portuguese industry and services in home textiles, anticipating trends, reflecting the competence and competitiveness of Portuguese products. With an integrated value chain, this sector combines know-how and quality with design, innovation and technological incorporation. The areas of research and development for new products reflect the fruitful articulation between industry research and teaching centers. Finally, social responsibility and environmental and sustainability awareness must be highlighted, since they are increasingly evident and embraced by our businesses. All these elements make for an excellent product, with a high value, which honors and boosts national exports. The regular promotion of initiatives in various parts of the country, such as Guimarães Home Fashion Week, allows international buyers to get to know our companies, but also our territory, outside the sphere of the two main urban centers (Lisbon and Oporto). This sector has also a preponderant role in the retention and attraction of talent. To all these factors, we add the participations in the biggest international fairs: Spain, Germany, Greece, China, USA, Russia, among others, and actions such as “ Made in Portugal Naturally ”; which enhance the international notoriety of the Portugal brand. In an atypical context of great uncertainty and disruption of logistics chains, the home textiles sector has firmly adapted to a “new normal”, reinforcing its national and international positioning. The results are due to the hard work of private agents - companies, business associations and their collaborators -, but also of public agents such as the Diplomatic and Consular Network and AICEP. The strategy developed by the Home from Portugal Association translates this effort, and the Textile Selection Catalog is a “showcase” of dissemination and essential communication for the Portuguese home textiles sector in the world.
